Board Support Package

MPC Data is pleased to offer a new Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 Board Support Package (BSP) for the low cost DM3730 based BeagleBoard-xM.

Based on the Texas Instruments DM3730 Cortex A8 CPU plus C64x DSP core, with a 1GHz clock rate and 512MB of low power DDR RAM, the BeagleBoard-xM offers more than 2000 Drystone MIPS of processing performance with very low power consumption and a price tag of under $150.

BeagleBoard-xM BSP Hardware Revision Support MPC Data’s BSP includes support for an extensive list of on-chip and on-board peripherals, including the BeagleBoard-xM’s 10/100 Ethernet connector and 4-port USB hub.

The Source BSP has catalog selectable support for the current BeagleBoard-xM hardware revisions:

Rev A2-00 (Micron DDR)
Rev A2-01 (Numonyx DDR)
Rev A3/Rev B

Hardware Accelerated Video Support Using Codec Engine Framework

To complement the leading-edge specification ARM Cortex A8 processor core, the TI Codec Engine framework within the BSP utilises the additional C64x+ DSP core and TI's binary codec algorithms to accelerate video media encode and decode.

The Codec Engine framework provides the standard VISA ( Video Imaging Speech Audio) API for user applications. The BSP includes several TI production codecs in binary form*.

*A production codec licence agreement must be sought from Texas Instruments for commercial use.

Hardware Acceleration for Silverlight 2D/3D and OpenGL ES 1.1 and 2.0

The BSP includes drivers and library components for accelerated graphics performance using the powerful SGX 2D/3D GPU co-processor on the DM3730. The seamless integration of these acceleration libraries into the BSP enables very smooth Silverlight and OpenGLES 1.1 or 2.0 based graphics to be realised at high frame rates.
